Responsibilities and Duties We are currently seeking a part time Occupational Therapist, preferably a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) to join our outpatient team in Winsted, CT. The Occupational Therapist (OT) independently evaluates patients’ level of function and determines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals. The Occupational Therapist (OT) determines treatment strategies and delivers Occupational Therapy services that promote health and wellness, prevent injury or disability, improve and develop self-dependency and maintenance, productivity, leisure, perceptual motor function, rest, mental, cognitive physical, sensory-perceptual, psychosocial developmental, and emotional wellbeing in a variety of contexts and environments in order to maximize function in the areas of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work. * The Occupational Therapist (OT) delegates patient caretasks and provide clinical supervision for Occupational Therapist students, Rehabilitation Aides and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and application of Occupational Therapy to maximize the patient's functional independence. _Lymphedema specific responsibilities include_: - Evaluate patient with lymphedema and create Plan of Care - Demonstrate competence in manual lymph drainage, multi-layer bandaging, compression garment selection and application - Provide patient and/or caregiver training for home program including MLD, bandaging as needed, application of compression garments, and skin care - Provide appropriate and safe exercise plan for patient with lymphedema, with modifications to functional ability - Graduate of Occupational Therapy Program from an accredited American Occupational Therapy Association school, BS degree or entry level master's degree. - Current CT Occupational Therapist License required. - Completion of a lymphedema certification program with a minimum of 135 hours of lymphedema specialized training with one instructor preferred. * LANA certification preferred.
