Job Description

A large airline client is looking for a Sr. Structures Engineer to sit fully remote. This Engineer will be joining the Technical Operations team, reporting into the Director, Structures Engineering The team is currently working on onboarding four used 747-400 airplanes to the company's fleet, and this engineer will assist in prioritizing engineering actions and identifying gaps in current processes. This engineer will develop plans, instructions, and documents to comply with FARs, ADs, and NPRMs and to resolve non-mandatory in-service issues. The Sr. Structures Engineer assists with guiding maintenance and AOG (aircraft on ground) teams in all major repairs for the aircrafts. Their goal is to return aircraft to service safely and efficiently. This person will also be responsible for maintaining, developing, and analyzing documents including engineering orders and supplemental type certificates. 40% of their day will be spent verifying gaps, analyzing, and editing documents/reviewing records to ensure the used aircrafts are compliant with FAA policies. Another 40% of their day will be spent communicating with maintenance to facilitate repairs as necessary. The last 20% of the day will be spent on meetings with departments across the Technical Operations organization for collaboration on the project and visibility. The engineer must be coming from an airline background, as the processes vary at airplane manufacturer companies.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Sr. Structures Engineer

Must come from an airline background

Strong understanding of Aircraft Structures

Major repairs on fuselage, wings, landing gear, powerplant

Experience reviewing, advising, and updating records including engineering orders and STCs (supplemental type certificate)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering A&P Certification null
