Orthopedics Rhode Island Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Warwick, Rhode Island

[Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and Clinical Nurse Manager, the Surgical Aide is responsible for the care of patients through the peri-operative phases of their surgical experience. Perform organizational, clerical, patient care, and environmental tasks as needed to facilitate the highest quality of patient care, and the efficient utilization of available resources within the scope of practice.

  1. Clean operating room suites and other restricted areas.
  2. Terminally clean OR suites as assigned daily. Cleans vertical and horizontal surfaces that collect dust. Cleans tops of windows, doorframes, and other high places, using ladder when necessary. Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture including beds.
  3. Assists in operating room with room turnover
  4. Assist in positioning patients for surgery and holding patient extremities during surgical site prep
  5. Assist nursing with transferring patients to and from the operating room bed and moving heavy equipment.
  6. Stock supplies, linens and fill the blanket warmers in the sterile core as needed.
  7. Washes sinks and other plumbing fixtures and replaces supplies, such as paper-towels, soaps and toilet paper as needed.
  8. Clean stretchers and beds and replace sheets.
  9. Maintain equipment storage rooms.
  10. Dispose all linen and trash in the appropriate manner. Empty and replace sharps containers in all rooms.
  11. Properly uses point of care equipment according to manufacturers instruction for use
  12. Properly disinfects point of care equipment between each patient use
  13. Effectively conducts hand hygiene when providing direct care
  14. Communicates directly with RN any significant information obtained during direct patient contact
  15. Demonstrate knowledge of the centers policies, protocols and safety plans. Contribute to the goals of the
