Insight Global Automation Manager in Upper Marlboro, Maryland

Job Description

Insight Global has a client that is searching for an Automation Manager to sit in Upper Marlboro, MD. This individual will be responsible for managing the automation system, decanting, order fulfillment, quality control, replenishment, cycle counting, and product consolidation. A very important part of this role is to train and coach the staff of supervisors and warehouse associates on the various functions of the automation system. Additional responsibilities include:

- Analyzing products and determining if it qualifies to be placed on the automation system

- Assigning preventative maintenance to the technicians

- Tracking the PMs, follow up on them, conduct inspections on the system

- Assessing productivity and quality measurements

- Manage the team of automation technicians

- Collaborate with the manufacturing team

Skills and Requirements

* 5+ years of logistics experience managing in a distribution center

* Experience working with a goods-to-person conveyor system (preferably a DEMATIC system)

o Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and manuals

o Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, and other related equipment

o Electrical troubleshooting skills to include PLCs, optimal devices, wiring, ac power, ac motors, electrical drawings, and control panels

* Leadership experience

* OSHA training

* Flexibility to work all shifts * Experience with MS Office null
