JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Career Enrichment Network, in the College of the Liberal Arts, is seeking candidates for an International and Government Career Coordinator (Career Services Specialist).

The Coordinator will be a key contributor to the Network's efforts to increase and support Liberal Arts students' career exploration and readiness, out of the classroom experiences, and professional network development, specifically in the international and government career-based industries.

This role will support the development of faculty-led embedded programs to enhance the inclusive opportunities for our Liberal Arts students to travel and learn abroad.

One main responsibility of the Coordinator will be to assist with creating new global programs and developing strategies to promote global experiences within the College through:

  • Collaborating with Liberal Arts faculty interested in developing new programs or international agreements

  • Working with these faculty members to identify providers, establish budgets, manage contracts, and oversee collection of fees

  • Assisting and supporting faculty with the coordination of all details of the College's embedded course/program process

  • Monitoring and reporting on the College's key international program offerings and agreements

  • Serving as liaison to Penn State Global

  • Coordinating the promotion/marketing of global experiences, including study abroad and international internships, to Liberal Arts majors

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide career coaching, both individually and in group coaching sessions

  • Support ongoing Career Enrichment Network resources such as weekly drop-ins, resume reviews in Nittany Lion Careers, and events

  • Design and deliver educational and professional development workshops, information sessions, and networking events related to international and government industries in collaboration with the Assistant Director

  • Identify and promote internships, fellowships, research, information sessions/workshops, and career fairs supporting specifically the international and government career paths

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled as a Career Services Specialist at the level of Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Intermediate Professional level requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions.

Other Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with students or in a career services/counseling capacity

  • Experience managing contracts and budgets

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and attention-to-detail skills

  • Team-oriented

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort with developing and modifying processes

  • Experience with program development

  • Knowledge of Symplicity Career Services Management (CSM), Terra Dotta, or other database experience

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $74,000.00
