Saint Matthew Christian Nursery School Teacher Assistant in Springfield, Pennsylvania
*Hourly Rate/Attendance/Benefits: *
- The teacher assistant is a part-time, hourly employee for the school year which is the months of September through June.
- The teacher assistant is expected to be present during School hours. Attendance exceptions must be approved by the Executive Director.
- The hourly rate is set by the Nursery School Advisory Board.
- Paid personal leave hours.
- Professional development training provided.
- There are no health or retirement benefits.
- FLSA status -- nonexempt.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school graduate, at least 18 years of age
- 2 years of experience with children
- Must pass PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting Check, National Sex Offender Registry Check necessary for working with children.
- Mandated Reporter Training required.
- Health Assessment required.
- First Aid & CPR certified preferred
- Active Christian, comfortable in the expression of faith in Christ
- Ability to handle the physically demanding requirements of a preschool environment.

- Knowledge of child development pertaining to toddlers and preschool children
- Passionate about working with children.
- Ability to embrace the school's mission and philosophy.

Organizational Relationships:
Superordinate
- Reports to the Executive Director
- Works under the direction of the classroom Teacher
- Performance will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and safety of children in care.
- Assist with lesson plan preparation and implementation.
- Supervise classroom and outdoor activities.
- Assist children with bathroom care and changing if necessary.
- Assist with cleaning and disinfecting of classroom.
- Abi ity to step into the "Teacher" role whenever needed.
- Supervise lunchroom and outdoor activities.
- Other responsibilities assigned as needed.
