Insight Global Environmental Coordinator in Roanoke, Virginia

Job Description

Under limited supervision and oversight, the Environmental Field Advisor works in a team environment to provide environmental permitting and compliance support of electric transmission, telecom, distribution, regional workplace services projects within a geographic area. Responsibilities include providing training, guidance and other necessary support on applicable environmental requirements and permits, advising on applicable environmental requirements associated with Company projects, and coordinating with the appropriate business unit staff, Environmental Services representatives, contractors, and external parties to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.

Skills and Requirements

* High School Diploma or GED

* Minimum 8 years environmental experience with a HS diploma OR 6 years of environmental experience with an Associate's degree OR 4 years of environmental experience with a Bachelor's degree

* The Environmental Field Advisor should have basic understanding of some of the following environmental programs:

  • NPDES construction storm water permits, and

  • State & local permits for erosion and sediment control, and

  • Floodplain permits, and

  • US Army Corp of Engineers Section 10, 404, 401 & 408 permits and related delineations, and

  • Threatened and endangered species, and

  • Cultural resources, and

  • Key competencies of this position are technical expertise, planning and organization ability, problem solving, written and oral communication skills and initiative. * Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science

* Current Virginia DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector and Stormwater Management Inspector or combination certifications preferred null
