Job Description:

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for leading the product design of design systems that exhibit industry-leading visual design and interaction. customers. As a principal designer of a digital design system team, this person will design and compose guidance for components, patterns, and all design system elements to facilitate the creation of accessible, refreshing, and easy-to-use experiences. They will use qualitative and quantitative data to understand problems and find solutions that continually move the design system forward

  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

How You’ll Do It

  • Develops design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and other UX / UI design deliverables in Figma and other tools.

  • Understands the target users’ needs, motivations, and behaviors as it relates to a specific project or area. Seeks to improve skills with a continuous learning and improvement mindset.

  • Creates user experience design projects to ensure cohesive user experiences throughout customers journeys. Partners with key stakeholders including business owners, product owners, technology, legal, and research to design best in class product design system experiences across the Discover digital channels.

  • Strategizes and collaborates with experience design, product design, and engineering teams to identify requirements of digital experiences and design system elements.

  • Partners with Experience Design team to identify key deliverables and experiences and prioritizes with product teams. Utilizes ser research and / or A/B testing to present and validate design solutions. Utilizes existing user research and A/B testing capabilities to present and validate design solutions. Composes and contributes to design system documentation, guidelines and governance.

  • Partners with frontend and backend engineers to translate design into code.

Qualifications You’ll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Information Technology

  • 6+ years of experience in Product design, UX/UI across desktop and mobile web and native applications

  • In lieu of education, 8+ years of experience in Product design, UX/UI across desktop and mobile web and native applications

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Masters in Graphic Design

  • 2+ years of experience with Figma

  • 2+ years of experience building and scaling design systems

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
