Responsibilities

The Vines Hospital is seeking a part time Registered Dietician to join our team:

The Dietitian responsibilities include assessing the nutritional needs and diet restrictions of the patients, developing and implementing dietary care plans, and providing nutritional counseling for patients.

The Vines Hospital , located in Ocala, FL is a premier behavioral health facility offering individualized mental health and addiction treatment to adults and adolescents in a secure and private setting.. Our services also includes partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. We offer acute psychiatric, detox, and PTSD treatment.

Our Location:

We are located in picturesque Marion County, FL. The county is known as the Horse Capital of the World. Enjoy the outdoors at one of the county’s serene parks, which includes wonderful hiking trails, river rafting, and tubing. Watch the county’s wildlife and view the scenery by taking a horseback ride through one of the area’s riding trails. Considered the heart of Florida, the beautiful region is centrally located within hours of many activities. Just a drive away from some of the state’s amusement parks or beautiful Florida beaches. The county is less than two hours away from some of the state’s large metropolitan areas. From young professionals to a growing family, the area has plenty of activities for every individual.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

  • Food handler permit preferred.

  • Three months experience in a healthcare or hospital environment or an active student in a culinary base degree or certification preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics/Nutrition from an accredited college or university.

  • Two years’ experience as a Dietitian in a health care setting completing nutritional assessments preferred

  • Current Dietitian license in the State of Florida and registration with the academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone

  • Ability to reach above, at or below waist level.

  • Ability to use both hands to accomplish assigned duties.

  • Stands and walks most of the day.

  • Handles and manipulates equipment.

  • Stoops and reaches for equipment lift and carries food and kitchen equipment.

  • Ability to be aware of patient's dietary needs.

  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Ability to work as a team player.

  • Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.

  • Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent , adult and geriatric).

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations .
