Lapeer County Medical Care Facility Hospitality Aide in Lapeer, Michigan

JOB TITLE:  Hospitality Aide -- PM Phone Clerk/Door Screener                            F.L.S.A.Class: Hourly- Non-Exempt Bi-Weekly Pay Period Seasonal/Call In   RESPONSIBLE TO: R.N./L.P.N/ Shift Supervisor (Hospitality Aide) Business Office Supervisor/Administrator (PM Phone Clerk/Door Screener)   JOB FUNCTIONS: Hospitality Aide- Primary purpose is to provide assistance to the Nursing Department with feeding and one on one interactions with the residents in accordance with the Care Plan as may be directed by the  R.N./L.P.N./ Shift Supervisor. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position.   PM Phone Clerk/Door Screener- *Assists with daily Health screening of visitors and staff.  Performs clerical duties as requested. Assists Activities Department as needed to conduct window visits, conference calls, etc. between residents and families.   *HOSPITALITY AIDE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Identify residents before serving meals.
  • Prepare residents for meals (wash hands and face, position at table, place clothing protectors, etc.)
  • Assist resident with identifying food arrangements and ordering meals in Menu Stream
  • Perform the 20 points of Service
  • Complete Ice Passes
  • Serve food trays and assist with feeding as indicated (i.e. feeding, cueing, etc.)
  • Assist residents in preparing for activities and social programs (i.e. church, parties, etc.)
  • Assist in transporting residents to/from activities.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by Supervisors.
  • Follow work assignments and/or work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the Facility.
  • Report all complaints made by the resident to the Charge Nurse.
  • Pass Supplements; Give list to C.N.A. for documentation.
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, FAR I&O as instructed.
  • Answer Call lights.
  • Make beds.
  • Help with Special Duties (i.e., checking shower rooms, kitchenettes, etc.)
  • Use only authorized abbreviations established by the Facility when recording information.
  • Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift and complete Incident Report, including occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or infectious materials. Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
  • Redirect and use adaptive devices as instructed.
  • Wash hands before and after performing any service for the resident.
  • Keep the call light system in easy reach of the resident.
  • Follow established safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
  • Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Charge Nurse.
  • Before leaving work areas for breaks, or at the end of the work day, store all tools, equipment and supplies away.
  • Keep floors dry and wipe up any spills and put wet floor sign up.
  • Notify the Facility when late or unable to work as soon as possible.
  • Responsible for appropriate use of Facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
