Job Description Summary
The Wind Machine Head Engineering Leader is responsible for the Machine Head subsystem across all products globally. This role leads a global engineering organization and has overall responsibility for quality, performance, and execution of the machine head subsystem as part of the turbine platform. Scope includes NPI design & execution, methods & tools, validation, technology development, and issue resolution. Specific responsibilities include:

Essential Responsibilities
Develop the vision, set strategic priorities, and ensure alignment across the global Machine Head engineering team
Drive a culture that ensures delivers outstanding product quality. Ensure products deliver on availability, reliability, and performance targets
Formulate and execute the strategy for continuous improvement of systems, tools, methods, and processes
Drive a world class product quality culture. Ensure timely resolution of quality/performance issues and ensure operating mechanisms close the feedback loop
Lead a large global Engineering team with responsibility for strategy, culture, and execution
Own a significant engineering operating and NPI/NTI investment budget
Partner with cross-functional partners to drive significant year over year product cost savings
Develop and execute a differentiated subsystem technology strategy from design through customer fulfillment
Drives modularity, competitive component re-use, and best practices across all product platforms
Ensure appropriate operating rhythm to ensure robust cost-out project deck and world class subsystem performance
Partner with stakeholders to drive corrective and preventative actions to deliver world class quality
Develop investment strategy and execute testing and validation plans for subsystem components
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of time

Demonstrated ability to lead global engineering teams to successful outcomes
Strong wind turbine machine head expertise and related component technical & business expertise
Strong technical leadership experience including NPI design, NTI development, problem solving & RCA resolution, method/tool development, and related items
Demonstrated systems thinker: ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results
Proven ability to drive process improvement, implement standard work, and utilize Lean operating principles
Strategic thinker – able to navigate complexity, develop clear actions, and drive impact
Excellent leader, effective coach, and trusted mentor
Demonstrated ability to influence others and drive cross-functional teams to success
Makes decisions and manages conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Takes ownership of issues and drive solutions
Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to connect positively with others
Strong business acumen & customer focus
Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
