J&J Worldwide Services Stockroom Clerk in Ft. Hood, Texas

Description

General Summary

The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice

  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications

  • Stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material

  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock

  • Prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock

  • Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.

  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments

  • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles

  • Distributes stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued

  • Makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock

  • Cuts stock to site to fill order

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • One to three years’ experience with receiving, storing, maintaining and issuing stock or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to use computerized purchasing systems

Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extension

  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
