POSITION OVERVIEW: MCRI is looking for an innovative individual to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer. As a core member of the mechanical engineering team at MCRI, you will work together as a team to create working concepts and development of functional designs in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Inventor) from a variety of electromechanical/pneumatic devices. The successful candidate will work closely with MCRI's project managers, electrical engineers, assemblers, programmers, and customers to develop custom robotic solutions that keeps the manufacturing industry competitive. Mechanical Engineers at MCRI are the true "owners" of each project. This position affords a high degree of responsibility and autonomy in your work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Concept and design mechanical fixtures, stands, EOATs and dynamic assemblies.  Utilize electromechanical / pneumatic devices to create solutions to complex mechanical challenges.  Create pneumatic schematics for system operation.  Create sequence of operations for systems in conjunction with electrical / controls / robotics engineers.  Collaborate with ME Co-ops as a resource and training opportunity.  Resolve design and functional issues that arise during system setup, debug, and installation.  Create Inertia calculations for End of Arm Tools for mating robot.  Work with a project team to develop concepts and design solutions for automated and robotic equipment.  Produce project specific bill of materials (BOM) to complete ordering for individual projects.  Create project manuals, recommended spare parts list and risk assessments for each project.  Specify, communicate, and meet with vendors for a variety of special equipment (Conveyors, AGVs, Stretch Wrappers, Bag Inserters, Banders, etc.  Use organizational skills to maintain a neat and organized work environment to work at maximum efficiency. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years in Machine/Equipment Design and 3D CAD Software experience. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:  Hands-on mechanical skills (hand tools, power tools, etc.).  Previous shop floor, assembly or maintenance work experience.  Exceptional mathematical skills.  Excellent reasoning skills.  Outstanding communication skills. JOB TYPE: Full-time, on-site at Fremont, Ohio PAY: $50K - $80K annual salary, plus straight time for OT (Salary Plus)- in accordance with job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
