Flint Community Schools MTSS Supervisor in Flint, Michigan

Job Summary:

Flint Community Schools, an urban public school system with campuses throughout the City of Flint, Michigan, has a long and rich tradition of community education.  Flint Community Schools provide a range of academic, extended services and extracurricular activities at the elementary and secondary levels to meet the needs of our students and their families. 

The MTSS Supervisor, supervises mental health staff and provides direct services/interventions to general education students that are at-risk due to high referral and suspension/expulsion rates.  The Supervisor also assists the staff with determining appropriate data collection methods, evaluates observation data and makes recommendations to the building team and building administrator that may include plan modifications or new strategy implementation.

Salary & Benefits:

Administrative Salary Schedule $76,381 Annual Salary

 Health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. Employees shall be subject to the co-payment of health care costs equal to the difference between the premium cost and the annual cost limitation imposed on public employers.

Education:

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) and the additional classes needed to obtain School Social Worker Approval from an accredited university and the Michigan Department of Education. It is required that Full School Social Approval be obtained within two years of hire. Must be a licensed Master's level Social Worker through the State of Michigan - LARA.

 Experience:     Five years of social work experience in a public school setting or related agency is preferred.                          Previous experience in Collaborative Evaluation Teams.    Experience necessary in:

 

  • PBIS / MTSS
  • Restorative Justice
  • Diagnosing and treating the effects of trauma
  • 504 plans
  • Working with at-risk-students
  • Supervising mental health staff
