This position performs high-level clerical and/or technical duties at the Estero Recreation Center and other facilities as assigned.

As our next Recreation Center Specialist, the candidate will assist with a variety of important support functions such as: assisting citizens, scheduling reservations, maintaining records, creating newsletters and much more. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and prioritize and must be proficient working with RecTrac and Canva.

This position will work alongside supportive and fun colleagues who are focused on providing the best working environment and experience for the citizens and employees of Lee County.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organizes files/records.

  • Handle customer service inquiries and prepare daily membership registrations and deposit transactions

  • Prepare correspondences and generates reports.

  • Update and Maintain databases, researches data

  • Clean restrooms, locker rooms and general maintenance within the facility on a daily basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Licensing

  • Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and one year of related experience with high-level clerical and/or technical duties such as; filing, operating office equipment, customer inquiries, preparing correspondences, maintaining databases and generating reports.

  • Prefer one year of experience within the Parks and Recreation industry.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

  • First Aid and CPR Training required within 6 months of hire date or employment may end.

Supplemental Information

  • Must be able to prioritize, problem solve and multitask on a high volume threshold of more than 30 transactions in an hour while providing excellent customer service.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive communication and effective working relationships with the public, co-workers and members of diverse culture and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Must be able to operate general office equipment, computers and be extremely knowledgeable of computer software programs. (Canva, MS Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook)

  • Must be able to assess and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints by exercising; fair, reliable, objective, valid and sound independent judgment. Using deductive reasoning and critical thinking while maintaining a polite courteous domineer.

  • Must be able to juggle a multi-lined phone system and a two-way radio while utilizing in house software to; enter, file and retrieve data in relation to memberships, class registration, roster reprints and financial reports.

  • Knowledgeable in basic mathematics and be able to perform cashier type transaction maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. These transactions include but are not limited to; processing payments by credit card and checks, refunding and preform financial deposit transactions.

  • Must be willing and able to perform basic janitorial duties inside of the Recreation facility including but not limited to; vacuuming, cleaning of public restrooms, taking out trash, setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for meetings and events with the ability to lift 25 Ibs.

  • The work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday and includes weekends, evenings and holidays. Daily work shifts could start at 6:45 a.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
