Description

Robert Half has partnered with a Denver-based private equity owned national construction company, in search of a Human Resources Director. As Human Resources Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing HR operations across multiple locations. We are seeking a dynamic individual with extensive experience in the construction, manufacturing, or similar industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, adeptness in managing both union and non-union environments, and proficiency in data analytics. The Human Resources Director will lead a small team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure HR compliance and support across our decentralized structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to, legal compliance, payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.

  • Lead and develop a small HR team, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and locations to address HR needs and challenges effectively.

  • Utilize data analytics tools such as Excel, PowerBI, or other reporting platforms to provide adhoc reporting and analysis as requested by the CEO or executive team.

  • Navigate the unique decentralized structure of the company, providing HR support and guidance to various smaller entities while ensuring compliance and consistency.

  • Manage both union and non-union employee relations, ensuring fair and equitable treatment across all locations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR regulations and best practices, advising leadership on compliance matters and potential risks.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to different sites across the United States as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field required.

8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a recent leadership role.

Experience working in the construction, manufacturing, or industrial industry.

Strong data analytics skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, or similar reporting tools.

Experience with both union and non-union environments is highly desirable.

Experience working under private equity ownership a huge plus!

Ability to thrive in a decentralized environment, providing strategic HR support while respecting the unique structures of individual entities.

Execution-driven mindset with a focus on tactical HR responsibilities such as compliance, legal issues, payroll, and benefits administration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
