Job Description:

A safety management professional to manage industrial safety efforts at a Mine Remediation/Wastewater Treatment Plant located near Holden Village, a remote area Northwest of Lake Chelan in central Washington.

The qualified candidate will continue to implement and maintain the developed risk-based safety program during the long-term operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This remote wilderness industrial site has unique hazards and risks including avalanches, wildfires, and medical emergency response considerations.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who understands the importance of setting and achieving goals and deadlines. The individual will seek opportunities to improve our program, motivate their teams effectively and successfully, and provide guidance to the Plant Manager, operators, and civil team. The HSEC Project Manager must have a strong understanding of change management, and have the ability to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the identification, analysis, and development of controls to eliminate or minimize occupational hazards that exist in work locations. Experience in a variety of risk assessment methodologies including JSA, HAZOP What-If

  • Participate and support near miss and incident reporting, investigation, development of corrective actions, and closure. The ability to conduct root cause analysis using 5 why and tap root methodologies is a plus.

  • Lead HSE action planning and delivery to ensure full compliance

  • Measure, audit, and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE processes per established audit protocols and applicable Washington Administration Codes

  • Perform HSE training and ensure training content is reviewed and updated as necessary

  • Lead implementation of document control program into company-required databases

  • Maintain awareness of developments in legislation that affect site operations

  • Ensure site contractors are on-boarded to meet necessary safety and health requirements

  • Manage site inventory of chemicals and ensure safety reviews are completed for new chemicals brought on-site including, identification of hazards, PPE requirements, storage, disposal, and cross reactivity. Ensure environmental reporting for site chemical inventory is accurate.

  • Serve as a member of the emergency response team

  • Coordinate medical surveillance for staff and work with the occupational health clinic on requirements

  • HAZWOPER, OSHA training certificates a plus

  • Participate in IMCO corporate safety team meetings and support the continuous improvement process

    Schedule and Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to the work site approximately 50% of the time.

  • Offsite work will be conducted at IMCO’s corporate office in Ferndale, Washington, or the satellite office in Moses Lake, Washington.

  • Working schedule is five days onsite, every other week, and 5 days offsite in an IMCO office, or the possibility for remote/at home work, with weekends off.

  • Boat rides from Fields Point Landing, living accommodations, and meals are provided.

    Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting pay is $90,000-115,000 yearly salary - DOE

  • $5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for direct hire

  • 401(k) match on eligible wages and available for eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. IMCO offers 100% contribution matching up to 4% of the employee’s eligible wages

    Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of industrial health and safety experience

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of industrial health and safety experience

  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are a must
