Role Objective Manages the timely and accurate processing of payrolls, payroll taxes and related benefit payments ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory laws. Assists with managing the accounting for payroll-related transactions. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Payroll Processing Produces an accurate payroll for weekly employees, meeting all processing deadlines using (Ceridian) Dayforce payroll and timekeeping system Reviews timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance Approves employee self-service entries for direct deposit and tax withholdings Processes support and garnishment employee deductions; maintains documentation Processes bonus plans according to schedules Troubleshoots payroll related issues to ensure resolution Maintains supporting payroll documentation for each payroll processed Maintains payroll checklists and documentation of standard operating procedures Creates, balances and posts SAP general ledger upload file after each payroll Additional Duties Troubleshoots payroll related issues to ensure resolution Responds timely to verification of employment requests and maintain file of information provided Provides employee and manager training on the use of Dayforce timekeeping Provides payroll data required for internal and external audits Complies with mandated payroll related government surveys and regulatory agency reporting requirements Manages Dayforce Tax Service transactions Maintains and configures Dayforce Payroll and Timekeeper applications Monitors the effectiveness of payroll systems, policies and procedures and makes appropriate recommendations to ensure daily operations are efficient Provides technical guidance on complex issues Participates and assists with special projects Provides assistance to the Assistant Controller - Payroll Systems Provides support/back-up coverage to the Payroll Coordinator positions Company Car Program Maintenance Manages the Company Car Programs Develops and maintains company car document databases, spreadsheets and filing systems to support Risk Management requirements Manages ongoing company car program documentation; personal use auto statements, motor vehicle driving records (MRV's), car registrations and licensing Manages auto insurance claims with company drivers and outside insurance company Processes personal use auto tracking and payroll calculations; annual lease schedule Maintains and updates company car policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Manages the certificates of insurance process #LI-Remote Education and Experience CPP or a bachelor's degree in accounting/business or a related field preferred Minimum four (4) years' experience in payroll processing and two (2) + years of experience working with Dayforce Payroll and Timekeeping required In addition, two (2) years of basic accounting and general ledger experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products required Supervision/Coordination Internal contacts include hourly and salary employees, HROD and Accounting team members External contacts include child support agencies, human services, taxing authorities
