As the Vulnerability Manager for the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) Cybersecurity Office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of ARL's networks and systems. Your responsibilities will encompass performing vulnerability analysis and reporting, as well as coordinating and collaborating with IT vulnerability patching staff to enhance the effectiveness of the vulnerability management program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Vulnerability Analysis: Conduct comprehensive vulnerability analysis on ARL networks and systems to identify potential security risks.

  • Reporting: Generate detailed and actionable reports on vulnerability data, compliance status, and suggested improvements for all ARL systems.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with IT vulnerability patching staff to develop and implement effective strategies for addressing identified vulnerabilities.

  • Program Enhancement: Actively contribute to the enhancement of the vulnerability management program, providing recommendations for improvements.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with DoD and Army regulations and best practices in all vulnerability management activities.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of vulnerability management processes and best practices.

  • Proficient in vulnerability scanning tools and techniques.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret vulnerability data and provide meaningful insights.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT teams.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cybersecurity.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in vulnerability scanning.
